BIKE & SCOOTER SHARE RENTALS

Shared micromobility services available at UMD offer sustainable, fun, and convenient options to get around. Bikes, e-bikes, and e-bikes are available for short-term rentals and can be unlocked via a mobile app. Read below for information about getting started on the services. 

 

VEO

Veo operates a 400-vehicle semi-dockless e-bike and e-scooter share fleet the University of Maryland, the City of College Park, and the Town of University Park market. 

FIRST TIME? TRY TRAINING MODE

If you’re a first-time rider using the Veo app, go to settings
and turn on Training Mode which will automatically limit
your speed to 8 mph.

HOURS OF AVAILABILITY

E-bikes and e-scooters are available on campus from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.

PRICING

Veo Astro e-scooters cost $1.00 to unlock and 32 cents cost per minute of use. Veo Cosmo e-bikes cost $1.00 to unlock and 35 cents per minute of use. The Veo Access program offers discounted rates for riders who qualify for any federal, state, or locally-run assistance program. Eligible individuals can submit their applications here

 

CAPITAL BIKESHARE 

The University of Maryland and College Park have now joined the Capital Bikeshare network of over 700+ stations across the Washington metro area. The system offers a fleet of bikes and e-bikes rentals available to help you get around the area and complete your commute to campus. Download the app to get started.
