ELECTRIC VEHICLE PARKING POLICY

Only electric vehicles are permitted to park in EV charging spaces. When parking in an EV space, EV drivers must have a campus parking permit or pay the hourly rate if they do not have one. 

EV CHARGING COST

Payment is required at all charging stations at a rate of $0.20 per kilowatt-hour. Learn more about EV charging and rates.

FOR CAMPUS PARKING REGISTRANTS

Vehicles parked in designated charging spaces must be actively charging. Once charging is complete, vehicles must be relocated or the driver will be assessed an idle fee* of $0.40/min.

*Idle fee is applied to promote turnover and help ensure charging stations remain available to as many users as possible. Once a charge session has ended, drivers are allotted a 15-min grace period before the $0.40/min idle fee is charged to your card.

FOR VISITORS AND DRIVERS WITHOUT CAMPUS PERMITS

Drivers must pay the hourly rate for parking while using campus charging stations.  Make a payment using the available meter, pay station or ParkMobile application depending upon the location.  Vehicles parked in designated charging spaces must be actively charging. Once charging is complete, vehicles must be relocated or continue paying to park.

FOR ALL EV DRIVERS

EV drivers may not park in non-designated charging spaces and extend the charging cord from a designated space to their non-designated space. EV drivers may not unplug any vehicle that is charging or that has finished charging but remains in the space.

EV charging is limited to approved charging spaces located throughout campus. All charging opportunities are signed and controlled. Individuals may not use uncontrolled outlets in garages, on building exteriors or located elsewhere on or inside campus facilities.
