Demand Response (NITE Ride & Paratransit) Driver (student)

Drive our smaller NITE Ride and Paratransit Vehicles! The Shuttle-UM NITE Ride service is overnight, on-demand service that serves the campus seven days a week. The Shuttle-UM Paratransit Services is the DOTS subscription, on-demand service that provides curb-to-curb transportation for individuals with disabilities. This position includes paid training, flexible hours, and opportunities for advancement. The Demand Response (NITE Ride and Paratransit) Driver position does not require a Commercial Driver’s License. The successful candidate must be able to work overnight any time between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 8 a.m. during the Spring 2026 Semester.
 

$16.50/hr;  Spring 2026; Part-time

BikeUMD Program Assistant (student)

The BikeUMD Student Program Assistant is part of the BikeUMD and Micromobility Team within the Department of Transportation Services. We work to promote and elevate the bicycle culture, programs, and facilities of our Bicycle Friendly University to empower students, faculty, staff, and visitors to get to and around campus by bike,  scooter, and other micromobility vehicles.

We oversee bike & electric micromobility registration, manage how and where bikes and e-scooters are parked, administer incentives and host events to educate and encourage safe riding as a healthy, fun, and sustainable means of transportation. This position involves surveying, enforcing campus regulations on bike & e-scooter parking and registration, and impounding abandoned bikes & e-scooters on the University of Maryland campus.
 

$16.50/hr; 10 - 15 hours/week (Spring/Fall 2026); Part-time

Program Assistant (student)

JOIN OUR TRAINING AND DEVELOPEMENT TEAM

The Student Program Assistant will assist the Training and Development Manager at the Department of Transportation Services in planning and managing employee programs and events for the Department of Transportation Services. This position requires a person centered individual who will brainstorm activities and ideas for collaborative efforts throughout the Department of Transportation Services.
 

Sustainable Transportation Assistant (student)

JOIN OUR SUSTAINABILITY TEAM

The Sustainable Transportation Assistant will support the operations, planning, and evaluation of the UMD Smart Commute program, BikeUMD program, and other DOTS Sustainability Team initiatives.

The UMD Smart Commute program works to engage, encourage, evaluate, and educate the campus community about sustainable transportation policies and programs. Sustainable modes of transportation in the purview of this program include but are not limited to: carshare, bikeshare, carpooling, public transit, biking, walking, electric vehicles, and teleworking to support our campus community of over 50,000 commuters on and off campus.
