basketball season has arrived.
The Maryland Terrapins Men's Basketball team will play 20 games at XFINITY Center this season.
If you are attending the game, game day parking permits must be purchased online before you arrive on campus. Permits cost $15 and are effective for Stadium Drive Garage. You may also park in Lot 1 for free and walk to XFINITY or take the Quickbus.
If you are a student, faculty, staff or visitor who will be on campus during the game, but will not attend, please read on to view our vehicle relocation policies.
Quickbus is free and open to the public, and transports guests to XFINITY Center every before and after the game. The Quickbus map shows the route and bus schedule. Passengers may transport food and drinks (alcohol must be in sealed, unopened containers) on the Quickbus. Game attendees should note the clear bag policy for items that are allowed in the XFINITY Center.
Accessible parking for basketball games is available in Terrapin Trail Garage (Lot 6). If you are attending a basketball game and require accessible parking, the following parking options are available for you:
1. Purchase your game day permit in advance. Show both your game day permit and your ADA permit to the attendants at Terrapin Trail Garage, where lot admission will be granted without payment. Both permits must be displayed upon parking inside Terrapin Trail Garage.
2. Purchase your game day permit on site at Terrapin Trail Garage (Lot 6). These on-site purchases may only be made with credit card, and are permitted only for those with ADA placards.
Our accessibility page offers more information about the services we provide for those with disabilities.
Lots 4b, 5, 6 (Terrapin Trail Garage), 9b, 11b, NN, P1, P2, UU, XX1, XVL, Stadium Drive Garage and Regents Drive Garage are impacted by basketball games.
For both conference and non-conference games, these lots are closed four hours prior to tipoff and require a game day permit or Faculty/Staff permit to enter.
NOTE: parking regulations may change for individual games. Permit holders will be notified of such changes via email in advance.
Vehicle relocation is NOT required for non-conference games. However, the affected basketball lots are closed four hours prior to tip off until one hour after tip off. Students and visitors who attempt to park in basketball lots during the closed times will be redirected to park in Lot 1. The affected lots can be accessed one hour after tip off.
Only faculty and staff who present their UID or those with game day permits may enter the lot during the closed times.
Vehicle relocation is required for commuter students and guests who park in lots 4b, 6 (terrapin trail garage), 9b, 11b, NN, p1, p2, UU and XX1.
Commuter students and guests parked in the lots listed directly above MUST move their vehicles three hours prior to tipoff. Vehicles that are not relocated will be cited and relocated. Parking will be available to registrants in Lot 1. Faculty and Staff are not required to relocate.
If you have an academic conflict that affects your ability to move your car on a specific game day, you must bring your schedule to the DOTS office in Regents Drive Garage prior to the day of the game so that accommodations can be made. Exceptions will not be made the day of the game or any time after the game.
FOR GRADUATE STUDENTS
The Graduate Student Government offers a limited number of Game Day Permits to graduate students. Game Day Permits are available for basketball games only. Please contact your GSG representative for more information about these permits.
The following permit holders are not required to relocate from their assigned lots:
Resident students registered to Lots 5, 6 and 11b.
Graduate Student Access Permit Holders
Stadium Drive Garage Permit Holders
While vehicle relocation is not required for the above permit holders, the basketball lots are still restricted 4 hours prior to tip off until one hour after tip off. Registrants in these lots attempting to park in their lots within four hours before until one hour after tip off will be redirected to Lot 1.
Faculty and staff may continue to access basketball lots during home games by showing their UID to lot attendants.
