PARKING REGISTRATION
Before you register for a permit, make sure you've read through our permit types and fees page to decide which permit best fits your living and learning situation.
When registering, please use an email that you check frequently. Important parking reminders and notifications will be sent to this email address.
CANCELLING YOUR REGISTRATION
Students may cancel their parking registration at any time by contacting transportation@umd.edu. When canceling, please include your name and UID, as well as a message stating your intent to cancel your parking registration.
NOTE: The parking refund schedule will be adhered to regardless of any changes to the academic calendar.
PARKING WAITLIST
If a student is unable to register because their preferred lot is full, they may join a parking waitlist. Students can register for a waitlist through the parking management system. We use waitlists to balance lot registrations at the beginning of the semester. As the semester progresses, we monitor lot capacity and availability. As spaces in lots become available, students on the waitlist are contacted via email and offered parking in the lot. Waitlist requests are open to any student regardless of parking status. They are free and expire at the end of every semester.
PARKING ELIGIBILITY
All students are eligible to register for on-campus parking. In advance of registering, please view the list of student permit types and their associated fees. Registration for fall and annual permits open on a rolling basis according to credit level beginning in July.
Know what type of permit best fits your needs based on your living and learning arrangement for the 2023 - 2024 academic year.
