The Motorist Assistance Vehicle (MAV) is a free service
offered to any individual parking on campus experiencing
automobile difficulties. Service is limited to: jump starts,
lockouts, tire inflations, and gas transports.
To reach MAV, call the DOTS main number:
301-314-3687 (4-DOTS).
HELP US, HELP YOU
Please remember when you call to give our dispatcher an exact lot location. For example "Lot 1" is not specific enough of a location to help us locate your car quickly and efficiently. Callers might mention that they are located in the northern section of Lot 1b in front of the Ludwig soccer field.
Please remember to include a detailed description of your car including make, model, color, license plate number and type of problem experienced.
Please remain at your vehicle until the MAV vehicle arrives; individuals who need jumpstarts should raise their hoods as well.

- Unlock trunks
- Perform battery changes or any intensive mechanical procedures.
- Provide service for cars located OFF campus
- Change tires
- Provide money for gas
- Open every car, every time
- Write or void tickets
- Accept tips
