BikeUMD

As we transition back to campus, we have made many of our processes and operations contact-free.

Reclaiming stored or impounded bicycles
If you need to reclaim a bike you stored over the summer or that was impounded, you may retrieve it from our office by filling out our retrieval form. Our BikeUMD team will then contact you to confirm your appointment time for contact-less pick up from the bike rack outside of Regents Drive Garage. Prior to pick-up, you will be required to pay a $35 impound fee. This fee will be charged to your student account or you can pay by credit/debit over the phone.

Veo returns for Fall 2020 semester (Updated Sept. 1)
The fleet will be phased in during the week of September 7, and will be fully operational by Monday, September 14.

FAQS

How is the Veo fleet maintained and cleaned in response to the pandemic? (Added Oct. 24)

Even before the pandemic, Veo’s fleet maintenance team visited campus daily to maintain the fleet of e-scooters and bikes. This semester, Veo’s standard maintenance procedures now include vehicle cleaning with commercial-grade disinfectants. More information about Veo’s response to the pandemic is here on their website.

DOTS has also installed hand sanitizer stations at all of the  Veo parking hubs on campus. We encourage riders to wash or sanitize their hands before and after using Veo. Riders can also wear gloves as an additional measure of protection.

Is the Bike Commuter Incentive still available?
The Bike Commuter Incentive program will still offer secure and covered bike parking, however, shower access in the RecWell cycling facilities is temporarily suspended. For those using the bike parking facility, we ask that you respect the following precautions:

  • Watch for people exiting the facility and provide them at least 6 ft of distance when passing.
  • Wash or sanitize your hands before and after using high-touch surfaces like the gate or exit button.

Does DOTS have my bike?
If you think your bike has been impounded, please check our impounded bike database before contacting us to start the reclamation process.

How will bike rentals through the RecWell Bike Shop work?
The RecWell Bike Shop will be operating in a modified capacity as campus reopens. View the details on the
RecWell Bike Shop webpage
