The health and safety of our community is our top priority. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, many of our operations have been modified. We will continue to update this page as circumstances evolve.

The DOTS Office will be closed until further notice. Staff will be available Monday through Friday from 8:15 a.m. - 4:15 p.m. to assist by phone at 301-314-3687 and email at transportation@umd.edu.

For other UMD updates related to the coronavirus, visit umd.edu/virusinfo.

Stay well, Terps.

Shuttle-UM

Shuttle-UM services remain suspended until Fall 2020 resumes.

Fall 2020 Shuttle-UM Service RESUMES ON AUGUST 24.

Fall 2020 schedules will be posted by early August. During the Fall 2020 semester, some of our routes will pause during off-peak hours and/or run on an abbreviated schedule. These modifications allow for increased cleaning and limit the number of drivers using a single vehicle.

Parking

FALL 2020 student parking permits on sale, beginning july 29

Parking registration for the Fall 2020 semester will open on a rolling basis according to credit level. See dates. Prior to the start of registration, we will announce additional parking options for students who do not wish to purchase a full fall or annual permit.

Parking Restrictions

You may park in any available parking space on campus, including visitor parking, for free.

CITATION LATE FEES

As of Wednesday, March 18, we have temporarily stopped adding late fees to outstanding citations.

Motorist Assistance Vehicle (MAV)

MAV is suspended until further notice.

BIKEUMD

Veoride mobility share

VeoRide operations will be suspended on the university campus until further notice.

GETTING IN TOUCH WITH BIKEUMD

BikeUMD can work via chat or video call—email at bike@umd.edu to get in touch. The RecWell Bike Shop will also offer cycling support through their new newsletter

DONATING YOUR BIKE FROM HOME

Is your bike locked to a campus bike rack while you’re at home? If it’s on its last leg and not worth the hassle of moving when we return to campus, consider donating it to Bicycle Recycle. Tell us where your bike is located by filling out this form, and we will retrieve it when our office re-opens. DOTS and the RecWell Bike Shop will refurbish your donated bike and sell it at a low cost next year, or donate it to non-profit groups that supply bikes to those with unmet transportation needs.
