METROCHEK OR SMARTRIP

If you're a full-time faculty or staff member that regularly uses public transportation for your commute to work, then this program is a true benefit for you. You can literally save hundreds of dollars annually because the deductions you authorize through an automatic payroll deduction are taken from your pay PRE-TAX.

Once enrolled in the program, you will have the option of receiving your Metrochek benefits in the form of paper vouchers (Metrocheks), or by having the benefits transferred to you electronically via a SmarTrip card (aka, Smart Benefits). Metrochek vouchers can be used on Metrobus and Metrorail. They can also be exchanged to pay fares on more than 100 participating commuter services, such as; MARC, Ride-On, and Connect-A-Ride.

Enroll by completing an enrollment form and payroll deduction form. These can be downloaded here or obtained from your Departmental Transportation Coordinator.
